When you come to Botswana, there is no need to worry about a lack of communication or accessibility like in other foreign countries; the official language of Botswana is English – which essentially everyone speaks proficiently. The vast amounts of space and lack of crowds allows you to avoid thousands of other tourists and enjoy your holiday at a luxury Botswana camp in peace. This also means that travelers aren’t seen as a nuisance by locals. Everyone is very friendly and ready to welcome you with open arms. You will get to experience this first-hand as all of our staff are locally hired and well-trained.
The rich culture which the locals embody is another amazing reason why you should visit Botswana. Despite everyone being able to speak English, they still retain a strong sense of the traditional way of life. You will get to experience the authentic Tswana culture as well as that of the famous San Bushman who you will interact and connect with on your trip to Botswana – Some of who will guide you on your Kalahari Safari. When going on hunts, the trackers and guides are all native San people. Tracking has been a cultural norm for the San for thousands of years, on your trip you will be able to observe and learn from them!
While you’re staying with us, you will be able to experience many aspects of authentic Motswana culture. Many of the dishes served at our restaurant are traditional cuisine with products sourced from our own camps, prepared by our local, professionally-trained chefs. There are also numerous traditional activities which are available for you to engage in, including the San Bushmen dances and guided tours displaying their traditional way of life from hunting for food to toolmaking and foraging. During these activities you will be shown the diverse range of wildlife and flora used for medicinal and recreational purposes.
