Botswana Import/Export permits for Firearms
We will organize ahead of your safari in obtaining your firearm permits prior to your arrival, to do so we need the following documents 30 days in advance of your safari.
Gun Make, Serial Number and Caliber and number of rounds per firearm (max of 100 for each)
Copy of your passport.
Formal letter from firearm owner giving Kalahari Safaris permission to obtain your permits.
Copy of your firearm license or Customs 4457 Declaration form.
Kalahari Safaris will fill out the application for your temporary import permit and submit on your behalf for use in Botswana.
Remember when packing your firearms any ammunition must be packed separately in a lockable case, they are not allowed in the same case.
The 4457 forms purpose is to verify ownership of any valuable items that you will take out of the country for your Safari, you should contact a Customs and Border office in advance of your trip, take your Rifles, Binoculars and any other important items and have them listed on this form.
